Abstract
Agranulocytosis is the most frequent among all haematologic drug-induced side effect. The alone therapeutic mean is trying to reduce neutropenia duration. We report one case of severe carbimazole-induced agranulocytosis (neutrophil count < 100 mm-3) successfully treated by G-CSF. The quick recovery of neutrophil count permitted to reduce duration of hospitalisation and of antibiotherapy. This result, largely demonstrated in the litterature, seems to confirm efficiency of haematopoietic growth factors in case of severe agranulocytosis.
