Abstract

The possible occurrence of hepatic lesions in familial homozygous hypobetalipoproteinemia is of clinical relevance. Macrovesicular steatosis in centrolobular areas and liver fibrosis must be considered as one of the complications susceptible to influence the course of the disease. Care must be taken to avoid potentially hepatotoxic treatments.
