    Abstract

Brain metastases are frequent in the natural history of lung cancer and are correlated with a poor prognosis. Hopefully, all therapeutics areas substantially evolved in the past 10 years. Increased understanding of the molecular biology of metastatic processes is providing new opportunities for the development of anti-epidermal growth factor receptor or -ALK-targeted therapies. Advances in imaging provided the earlier detection of tumours and additional information on responses to treatment. The repeated use of radiosurgery or hippocampal-avoidance whole brain radiotherapy will allow high tumour control rates and the reduction of radiation-induced cerebral injury. The following chapter aims to summarize such perspectives in patients managed for cerebral secondary lesions in the context of lung cancer.
