Abstract
In 2018, the Department of Clinical Pharmacy (DPC) opened a second centralized preparation unit for injectable chemotherapies (UCPC) sized to treat an increasing flow of preparations: 52,000 preparations in 2008 versus 80,000 in 2020. To meet the growing demand for preparations, the UCPC was enlarged in 2018 with a new controlled atmosphere area equipped with 2 ApotecaChemo robots (Loccioni) with a production start-up in February and October 2018 respectively. They increased production capacity, safety and robustness accounting for 40 up to 50% of our total daily production. In 2020, the DPC decided to acquire a third robot to increase robotic production and manage ever more complex preparations, especially for the pediatric activity. The selection criteria for this call for tenders are summarized in this analysis.
