Abstract
We report a case of cryptococcal meningitis, eight years after liver transplantation for primary biliary cirrhosis. Detection of the cryptococcal antigen in serum and cerebrospinal fluid appears to be essential for initial diagnosis and follow-up. Oral flucanazole treatment alone can be effective, when given for a very long period to prevent relapse.
