    Abstract

Focal breast densities include normal breast tissue, benign or malignant lesions. They may be created by fibroglandular tissue superposition  in this case, spot compression is useful, eliminating this superposition. Nevertheless, spot compression induces additional radiation dose and might be difficult to perform. Tomosynthesis appears interesting in this specific question, exploring the entire breast with different angles, eliminating more easily tissue superposition. Real lesions may also be more easily detected.
