Abstract
The maintenance of fat free mass has a fundamental interest in chronic diseases because of its prognostic value. the neoplastic process leads to an acceleration of proteolysis and a depression of protein synthesis. In cancer, the nutritional approach has a key role to limit muscle loss in patients, increasing anabolism and inhibiting muscle wasting. in such a situation, amino acid supplementation and physical activity are probably two key factors in muscle anabolism.
