Abstract

Taxonomy of Clathrulina elegans and Hedriocystis sp. has been investigated with the use of molecular methods. The rRNA 18S gene of C. elegans has been obtained with cDNA synthesis and amplified. Phylogenetic analysis has demonstrated the relationship of desmothoracid Heliozoa with Gymnophrys cometa in Cercozoa group. These results confirm previous findings based on Heliozoa mitochondria ultrastructure.
