Abstract

Candida arthritis are uncommon, and usually observed in immunocompromised patients. Ketoconazole prophylaxis has been suggested in such patients. In the patient we describe. Candida tropicalis arthritis developed despite a theorically efficient Ketoconazole prophylaxis (8 mg/kg/day) Further more the M.I.C. value of Ketoconazole was low (0,5 mg/l). Variations of absorption may explain the failure of Ketoconazole prophylaxis.
