    Résumé

We present a new integrated microfluidic system for the high throughput sorting of rare cells (few tens of cells per millilitre of sample) and their in-situ analysis by bright field and fluorescence microscopy at high magnification. The sample flows through an array of magnetic columns coated with antibodies against surface antigens of the target cells.. We present here a characterization of the system's physical principles and performances, and developments towards the sorting of epithelial tumour cells from the blood of breast cancer patients.
